OFFICIAL: Chelsea Goalkeeper Jorgensen Completes Loan Move To Strasbourg

Chelsea have announced that Filip Jorgensen has joined French Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg on loan.

The Blues, in a statement, wrote:”Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has completed a season-long loan move to Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg.

“The 24-year-old joined the Blues in the summer of 2024 and made 36 appearances over the previous two seasons.

“Jorgensen was a key member of the Chelsea side that lifted the UEFA Conference League in May 2025, starting all but one game in the competition. The Denmark international became a Club World Cup winner later that summer.

“Jorgensen featured 12 times last season across four different competitions, playing his part as we reached the semi-finals of both domestic cups.

“We look forward to supporting Filip throughout his time in France.”

On 30 July 2024, Jörgensen joined Chelsea from Villarreal for a reported fee of around £20m, signing a seven-year deal.

According to publications in Portugal via The Mirror, Chelsea are interested in signing Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, who recently helped his side lift the Portuguese Super Cup by defeating Toreense, Sports Mole reports.

It is understood that the 26-year-old has a release clause of £51m at Estadio Do Dragao, with Chelsea supposedly willing to fork out that amount for a player who has played 48 times for Portugal.

Chelsea are seeking an improvement on their current shot-stopping options at Stamford Bridge, where Robert Sanchez has been first choice for a number of seasons.

Jorgensen, who was the backup choice for Chelsea, let down the club by some of his performances in cup competitions last season, when Liam Rosenior was the man in the dugout.

Costa kept an outstanding 19 clean sheets across 33 top-flight matches last season as the Dragons won the Primeira Liga title ahead of arch rivals Benfica and Sporting Lisbon.

The 26-year-old also possesses exceptional international pedigree, playing every match at the World Cup this summer for Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal before they were knocked out in the last 16 by eventual winners Spain.
